INOTHINK is a nurse- and midwife-led social enterprise established to bridge the gap between frontline insight and healthcare innovation. Healthcare professionals spend the majority of their time delivering care, often with limited opportunity for structured support to develop, test, and scale innovative ideas. INOTHINK exists to strengthen innovation thinking, leadership, and capability across the health workforce. ur approach is grounded in clinical insight, ethical practice, and systems thinking. We prioritise collaboration, learning, and sustainability over short-term solutions or technology- driven innovation alone.
To empower nurses, midwives, and Allied Health Professionals to recognise, develop, and lead innovation that improves healthcare practice and systems.
Our Vision
A healthcare workforce that is confident, capable, and supported to lead innovation that delivers meaningful and sustainable impact in care.
Creativity
We believe innovation begins with imagination and curiosity.
Empowerment
Anyone can innovate, at any time, within their scope
Reflection
We value learning, reflection, and continuous improvement.
We help nurses, midwives, and AHPs develop the skills and confidence needed to recognise opportunities and lead innovation within healthcare systems.
Through structured support, we enable frontline professionals to transform everyday observations into meaningful improvements.
We create supportive environments where healthcare professionals can explore and refine ideas without the pressure of formal evaluation.
These spaces allow practitioners to:
Reflect on challenges within their work
Share ideas openly
Receive structured guidance
Develop ideas before testing them in practice
Innovation only matters when it improves care.
We help practitioners move ideas from concept to implementation by supporting them to:
Shape ideas safely for real healthcare settings
Understand the ethical and practical considerations of change
Implement small, meaningful improvements
Share learning across teams and systems
Helping practitioners capture ideas from everyday clinical experience and reflect on challenges, insights, and improvement opportunities.
Using books, research, and professional knowledge to ground innovation in evidence and strengthen professional voices.
Applying human-centred design principles to understand problems from the perspective of both patients and healthcare professionals while ensuring safety and ethical responsibility.
INOTHINK is currently developing practice-based learning pathways designed to help healthcare professionals build confidence in innovation while continuing their clinical work.
These pathways will focus on:
Innovation thinking in healthcare practice
Design thinking adapted for clinical settings
Moving from idea to improvement
Leadership for practice-led innovation
Our learning approach prioritises:
Reflection over rapid execution
Learning over performance
Safety and ethics over speed
Collaboration over competition
